Ecuador .- As elsewhere in the world, New Year’s in Ecuador is synonymous to leaving behind and starting anew. This date is best known as “fin de año” (end of year), with local customs that have spread across the nation and are now shared among all Ecuadorians alike. [
Perú .- Machu Picchu became entitled to another international recognition. The ancient Inca citadel was chosen as the primary destination to be visited before dying in a contest organized by an online newspaper in the U.S., "The Huffington Post." [
Argentina .- Christmas in Argentina is a holiday that traditionally meets the whole family together. In every home there are the cribs, representing Jesus’ birth. [
Colombia .- As if Cartagena hasn’t got enough going for it, this walled colonial port city has been officially recognised by Tripadvisor as one of Central and South America’s top wine and food destination. [
Chile .- Tapati is a traditional Rapa Nui festival that takes place during 10 days in February since 1975. The festival began only between rapanuis and nowadays is a platform for cross-cultural experiences with tourists who arrive in this time of year. [
